When I visited this town in the early 1970´s many women were topless and wore only the wrap skirt and belt. The climate is very hot. Recently the intrusion of paved roads and Mexican has changes this form of dress and the women wear a cape or apron. The town is full of weavers and the textiles shown here are part of the Elwell / Aleto Collection
