The first visit to Altepexi was in 1981, after meeting a family in the market in Tehuacan, Puebla, they invited us to their home. During that visit we purchased 3 blouses which were of extraordinary quality. The family shared with us that the blouses are often given to new brides as a remembrance of their cultural roots. It is common to embroider the name of the person and a small message on the blouse. The original images are captured from video tape.
