The bridge crossing the river, this is how I was finally able to get into Tepezintla, driving around the mountain and crossing this river which I believe is called Zemploala, although there ar emany rivers which change names depending on the region.

This is the offices of the town Totomoxtla, I didn't stop here but a small number of women still wear costume here.

this map is from the Institute of Indigenous Languages in Mexico City. The dark purple color means that up to 75% or more people speak nahuatl in those towns, the red indicates up to 50 % and the yellow up to 25%.

While small this town has done a great job of paving and creating an orderly place for the people.

This sign electified me, when I saw Zongozotla I realized who this entire region fits together. Zongozotla is a largeTotonacan town and municipality. There is a gallery and video of Zongozotla, when I was in Zongozotla I saw a road leading off into the mountaina nd asked where it went. The answer was typical "por hay" or over there. You can also see the canyon wall above there is Tepezintla my destination.
