Moxtla, Tequila, Veracruz , Mexico is not yet shown on any map , well except mine, but it does exist and has its own school. It is a community that was formed from families from other areas. There was a meeting at the school and many women were there in traditional dress. This always gives me a good idea of the extent to costume in the town. The young girl pictured in the first image was interesting. My guide Tony called her a Nina ( young girl) and she corrected him say that she was a Senora ( a married women). They do marry young in the Sierra.

At the school the teacher facilitated a photo shoot and I was able to get a good sample of women in costume. Of interest is a man wearing the typical muslin calzones, with a political tee shirt from PAN underneath. Give away’s are a common way to influence votes and the practice often tilt elections. Most of these families only make a few dollars a day so a bag of beans could make a big difference. Kind of like the companies in the US but the US companies give millions to tilt elections.
