This woman from Tenecalco was selling purple potatoes or yams as we know them, in the Mixtla market on market day. This is kind of a cross between the two costumes that are currently worn in the high altitude, Zona Alta, of the Sierra Zongalica area. She’s wearing a commercial skirt but a blouse with lace on it similar to blouses worn in the Tehupango region which is above Mixtla. This town is on the line between Mixtla and the Tehuepango region. If you’ll notice, she’s wearing shoes, and in many of the other pictures people don’t have shoes on. This is the only picture we have of this town right now.
