San Miguel Tzinacapan is a large Nahua town located right next to Cuetzalan. There are many women here that continue to wear traditional dress including embroidered blouses, backstrap woven belts and quechquemitls.

Selina is feeding her baby whose name was America. WOW, we were impressed imagine a Nahua baby named after America... Well after further questioning he was named after the Mexican Soccer team “America”. The town has had some slight improvements since my last visit. The town is decorated with “papel picado” which is a great photo. In the other photos you can see the full costume and a close up. The younger women only wear the blouse and a store bought skirt. I have seen this in a number of other villages, the first sign of textile tradition extinction.
