There are still elderly men that wear the traditional white muslin peasant wear. This barrio is a heart pounding 70 steps above the main town , built on a hill side. There is now a paved road that connects it to the town on the valley floor. Maria Cresencia pictured here is the last Tepehua weaver in town. she weaves the traditional quechquemitl worn by the last remaining women in traditional dress. During the last two month ( Jan & Feb 2007) I was able to film her making the quechquemitl I commissioned, the video will be coming soon as well as a photo gallery.
