This town is a municipal capitol of a large district in the state of Veracruz . As you enter the town it is obvious that the government is working for the people the streets are paved their curbs and sidewalks and the town is very picturesque . All of the surrounding villages are considered indigenous and there are still some women in town that where the traditional costume . The cathedral has been reconstructed and as you can see from the photos is very clean and orderly . The municipal government gave me a guide to take me to the other villages that you see in this gallery . The costume consists of an apron the white wrap skirt , a wide backstrap woven belt , a cotton blouse with pleats on the sleeves and a store bought lace adorning it over top is worn a handkerchief wrapped behind the neck and tucked into the belt .
