| For many years the Otomi town of Ixtenco, tlaxcala has produce a "pepeinada" embroidered blouse. The example shown in this gallery are from samplerers held by the Otomi women to use when recreating the blouses. The counted running stitch is very much like smocking. The use of the ancestral costume is now restricked to festivals and other holidays, howeversome women wear the blouse on a day to day basis. |
