Ayutla Mixe is the first large town as you ascend from Mitla, the traditonal dress here is only used for festivals and I would concider it extinct from day to day use.Bob Freund7/14/2004

The local Commission of development for indigenous peoples helped me a great deal with understanding the local area and costumes. 		Ayutla_9c
The CDI, formally the Institute of Indigenous Peoples, this government agency is located all over indigenous Mexico and they are directed to assist in cultural conservation while creating opportunities for development.
