The map shown on this page is from the early 1990's and shows that at that time these were still no paved roads into Talea. Today (2004) a paved road should arrive at the town. The area is mountainous with many small communities scattered throughout the region. The blouse purchased from a collector in Oaxaca City in the mid 1980's. The blouse is of muslin and embroidered with a cross-stitch. The small people across the front of the blouse are mock smocking rather than gathered.
