Teotitlan del Valle is a wonderfully traditional town where traditional dress is still worn and Zapotec is spoken by everyone. The success of the weaving business has allowed the people to protect their heritage and not migrate to the US. / teo1 Bob Freund 4/30/2004

 

Wool is woven into a wonderful variety of rug, throws, bags and other loomed products. Traditional dress is still seen on many women although it is fading, Zapotec is spoken everywhere. Her Sra. Martinez is carding wool.
