Cora food – It is the responsibility of the Centurions and the Capitan to feed every one that attends the festival. The basic diet of the Cora is corn, beans, squash and nopal cactus. This is the same diet that sustained the pre Hispanic populations of Mexico. There does seem to be enough food and the bean tacos were large. The Captains would run across the square and the wives would prepare the food on small plates or just on tortillas. When you review these galleries it is clear that there are not very many over weight people, The diet is very health and there is very little consumption of junk food, probably because no one can afford it.
