Coatepec Harinas is a clean and orderly town with obvious signs of progress. In a crafts book from 1987 the remarks about the town were about how difficult it was to get there. Today it is no problem with various roads connecting for both sides of the Nevada de Toluca volcano. The town sits high on the slopes and show lots of signs of recent progress. All the roads in the town are paved and it has a well kept and orderly town square. Bob Freund 11/21/2005

The process of making any woven garment from wool is a long and involved process. Graciano is an experienced weaver and works at a good pace. The loom is located in the patio of his home were they are covered by a roof; they are basically in the open air.

His wife also is a crafts person and makes traditional candy from squash and other fruits from the region. They are first cleaned and the cooked and with a pointed stick they are perforated and then soaked in honey. She also make mole and sells it in the local area.
