San Antonio de la Laguna is located in the district of Donato de Guerra the state of Mexico. The traditional dress is still widely used here. The town is located on rolling hills near the nearly dried lake. Their crafts are sold in Valle de Bravo. Bob Freund 5/16/2005

These are the pieces of the costume purchased in Valle de Bravo is 2001. The slip is similar to the young woman embroiderer from Tres Puentes. The lake is dry (May) at this time of year and crops are just starting to grow. There is a major effort on the part of evangelical churches in the Mazahua region, pictured here is the Catholic Church however the Pentecostals have a large presence in almost all the towns. |
