During the ceremony to unite the male and female spirits the people danced and left offerings at a sacred cave. First the women started and gradually everyone joined in. The men carried flowers and the "baston de mando" the staff of authority. |
There was food and an orchestra. During the dance the men passed the flowers and the "baston de mando" to the women, which symbolically representing the reconciliation between Pihup and Ákxquiäpy. The spelling of the female lord “Pihup” is an approximation please excuse this. |
Panoramic views abound both going to the town and from the patio of the municipal palace. |
