The finely woven huipil in this gallery was purchase in 1974 during a visit to Pinotepa. The huipil is woven with very fine thread and has a ribbon on the neckline which has the characteristic animals embroidered on it. Generally these type of huipils were / are used for weddings. The first image is of hair braids which are worn during ceremonies and fiestas. The traditional wrap skirt is woven in Pinotpea de Don Luis. Included in the gallery is also an example of this huipil from the Elwell / Aleto collection.
