The pottery from this town is rustic but attractive. It is the type of craft that is functional and used in the homes and litle is sold to craft markets or exported. Recently (fall 2004) the town change political parties and is now PRD. The town has anumber of paved streets but the road to get to san Cristobal is a rugged dirt road.
