Ahuacatlan is a large musicality with two ethnic groups, the Totonaca and the Nahuatl. Each group dresses distinctly, the most obvious difference is the Nahua wear a black wrap skirt and the Totonacan wear a white skirt.

Ahuacatlan is a municipality with over 18000 inhabitants 16000 of them either speak Nahuatl or Tononacan. The trans Serana hight way runs through the Ahuacatlan and for the most part divides the two regions. On Sunday there is a large market where to thw ethnjic groups go to market.

The town has a large well maintained church and many scenic places to visit.
