Up Home » Nahuatl and Totonaca speakers of Tepetzintla, Puebla

This isolated municipality is home to many belt and wool weavers. The long black wrap skirts are needed because of the cool climate. The belt weavers , using back strap looms weave belt fo many surrounding communities. The designs on the belts woven in the Nahua communities are similar to the Totonacan belt but they are not as wide. They also spin wool and make thier long blacl wrap skirts. The Totonacan women wear embroidered blouses.
