Something that I have to mention is that this town is in the high part, or the “zona fria”, which is the cold zone of the Zongalica Mountains. It’s at a high altitude, was cold there, and you can tell which is which because the people were generally wearing sweaters in the towns that were in the high zone. There were probably only four or five people there who still wore the traditional costume up in Santa Cruz. It is very high and a difficult place to make a living.
