Aguatitla, Zoquiapan Puebla is a small Nahua community perched in the side of the mountain outside Zoquiapan. Traditional attire is still worn by at least 2 generations. The embroidered blouse, red hand woven belt, white skirt and lace quechquemitl. ©Robert Freund 2007 12/17/2007

This small Nahua community has a breath taking view of the canyon formed by the Zempoala River . This deep canyon is one of the defining features of this region. The traditional attire is disappearing with the passing of the older generations. Similar to the costume worn in Cuetzalan it is confined to the older generation. In fact I was surprised to see this middle aged women wearing traditional costume. During festivals many of the younger women wear the costume and then store it for the next festival
