Handicrafts are taking on more and more importance as crop prices fall and cost rise. There was a sense of desperation in many towns about how to market their handicrafts. the young woman in the second from the right works for the DIF and took me to her home were we took these pictures, her mother showed me her back strap woven belts, both single and double weave. There were a broad variety of crafts napkins, table runners, and table cloths. The traditional textile methods were used but there was also ribbon appliqué and hand painted designs.
