Barrio Nuevo is a neighborhood close to the river; it is actually part of Huehuetla. There are a number of Tepehua women there that wear and made the traditional blouses and skirts. The belts are no longer made in town and might come from San Pedo VC.

This Barrio is now connected to Huehuetla with a paved road. The traditional costume of embroidered blouse, back strap woven black belt with a knotted design to finish it and the white wrap skirt with machine embroidery is now is decline . Among the younger generation no women wears this costume.
