There is a small community museum, and the church of San Lorenzo and the Esquipulas Chapel can be visited after paying a small fee. There is a second large church, San Sebastian, near the entrance to town. Traditional Maya prayer ceremonies are not seen as much in these churches, as they are in Chamula.

Many of the huipiles worn by Zinacantecas are now made for them by women in San Andres Sakamchen (Larrainzar). San Andres women are renowned for the quality of their hand embroidery, and they craft the huipiles in the colors and designs desired by Zinacantecas. We were visiting friends in Zinacantan when a man from San Andres arrived with an armload of huipiles to sell. And we have sat with friends in San Andres while they embroidered purple and black huipiles for Zinacantan.
