Tlacochizlahuaca is a municipal capital, weavers here make huipils, skirts, tablecloths and other woven goods. About 60% of the population speaks Amusgo. Women that weave preserve the Amusgo culture and pass their knowledge down to other younger weaves. The back strap weaving technique of brocading is shown in the upper row of photos. The second row begins with the tying on the fringe that goes on the tablecloths and the napkins. The hand tied fringe is quite long and adds to the colorful finished product.
