Huautla is a mountain town and municipal capital in the Huasteca region of the state of Hidalgo; it is about a 35-minute drive from Huejutla. The town has grown quite a bit in the past few years and now only the oldest generations still wear embroidered blouses as the traditional dress of the Nahua. During both visits to the town, it was orderly and under construction. The women pictured here were either walking in the street or participating in the Carnival festival. Their is a market in the center of town , on market day towns people and villagers come to buy fresh vegetables and other goods. Small food stands serve up typical food to the market goers.
