Ejido San Mateo is a small Otomi community in the Sierra of Hidalgo. There is one person that still wears traditional costume. When this woman is gone 5000 years of indigenous dress will have disappeared in this village. Bob Freund10/26/2006

This a a photo shoot of the last woman in the village that wears traditional costume. Her children and grand children took her inside and changed her from the purple into the multi colored blouse. When I arrived in the village, after asking around we were directed to her home. She came out in her traditional costume of the wool skirt, embroidered blouse and back strap woven belt.
